Recently I had the fortune to chat with David Nihill for my Fail To Learn Podcast. He’s the author of Do You Talk Funny? 7 Comedy Habits to Become a Better (and Funnier) Public Speaker. (I highly recommend the book. It has solid exercises to help your improve your presenting and speaking, with or without humor.)
I interviewed David because he became a stand-up comedian to overcome his fear of public speaking.
Can you imagine that?
Putting yourself out there, to be judged and ridiculed, just to overcome a fear? That’s what he did.
For one year, he dove into comedy. He wanted to distill it down to its essence. He wanted to find the easiest and fastest ways to get laughs and move a room.
He discovered how a comedian works a room is the exact foundation the best presenters work a room. And, all good presentations have a little humor sprinkled in.
Check out the interview with David and learn some comedy tips that will help you make more sales.
Since he’s a comedian, it’s a funny show. Well, I thought it was funny.
